Wow...long time, no blog. Sorry about that. :) We've been busy around here!

<~~~That right there is the FIRST PLACE trophy for the Tiger Cubs in the Pinewood Derby! Yay, Noah! (and Daddy!) Noah's litle pinewood derby car was zooming fast and he placed first in every race except one. He was SO excited! So he got 1st place overall in the Tiger division for his Pack. :D

Saturday David and I went to the Eric Clapton concert in San Antonio. It was fun...and LOUD. David is a huge EC fan, so I happily went along with him. A few observations from the concert:

1. Average age....45ish. 2. This age crowd does not stand up for the entire concert. (thank goodness, haha) Very helpful when you have floor seats! 3. The crowd was actually interested in musical ability, unlike the crowd at the New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson concerts I took my younger sisters to in the 90's. :D 4. When Jimmie Vaughan comes out to play for the encore with Eric Clapton, you don't need to introduce him. Guitar fans know who he is. 5. Not much dialogue is needed. I think Eric C. said maybe 30 words all night. 6. Each guitar player in the band needs a 5-minute solo in each song. 7. Obviously some people still think mullets are in style.

There was this chick there with a long mullet/80's female rocker hair, a huge fanny pack, and a tube of eyeliner on that kept dancing in the aisle, obviously thinking we all WANTED her to do that. She had a seat way up in the first section AND a seat in front of us. She would dance up and down the aisle, between the two seats, of course shouting, "whooooooooooooo!!" along the way. (translated..."look at me!") The usher was more than annoyed with her. I think I had more fun watching people than the concert. :) It was a fun night and David loved it!

I added another date to my class calendar. I'll be teaching at Lone Star Scrapbook Co. in The Woodlands. :) Classes are pending so stay tuned!

Working on classes, rearranging stuff in the house, making up some class kits for sale.....lots to do!

God bless you this week. :)

OMG Jennifer,
I am laughing so hard about the woman dancing in the aisles. Isn't she at every concert (LOL)!
Glad you had fun.

Way to go Noah!!!! My DH just helped the son of one of the single mothers he works with his car. It's too fun to watch them get into making those things. Can you imagine if we helped? They would have patterned paper, ribbons and buttons all over them!

The Clapton concert sounded, um, interesting but as long as the music is good then that's what matters. Hope you had fun on the Riverwalk later that night, I was thinking about you guys hoping you were having fun!

I don't think that making fun of people's looks is very nice. I think I'll pass on this blog from now on. :(

Oh come ON, Susan. I was simply setting the "scene" of what she was doing. And if you've ever been to a rock concert, you know there's one of these girls in every crowd! The story wouldn't have made as much sense without picturing her mullet and fanny pack. I guess sort of like telling a blonde joke without mentioning the chick was blonde...you need the details. :)

I do not make fun of people and I'm sorry you took it that way.

I was coming back here to delete my comments because I didn't want you to feel bad. I see that isn't the case at all, in fact you seem proud of yourself.

I don't think that you would like it very much if someone made fun of the way that you look or the way that you dress would you? Would it be funny if someone posted about your child and said something about his clothes?

I just don't understand how someone that professes to be Christian could be so...mean. It struck me as very strange to see someone ripping into someone else, then invoking God's name.

Anyway, it's your blog and you are free to make fun of people until the cows come home. I just wasn't raised that way. {{shrugs}}

I'm not being proud of myself by simply stating WHY I mentioned the details of her appearance. I never mentioned anything that she couldn't do anything about...they were all choices she made to have the "80's rocker girl" appearance. Heck, I myself had the mullet haircut, tons of eyeliner and a fanny pack in the 80's! The whole reason I mentioned the details was to give a visual description...no other reason. My best friend in the world would LAUGH if I described her as having a mullet, fanny pack and tons of eyeliner because SHE did, too. :)

And I responded to you to be cordial, not to defend myself. :)

I think all of us "80s girls" can appreciate the visual! I didn't take it as you being mean but just describing the concert. And I think some people enjoy the attention that dressing or acting certain ways brings to them. Just my .02
