Goodbye, huge (I mean huge...probably 10" tall) stack of patterned papers I don't use but thought I would some day. If you've been scrapbooking a long time, you'll know how old some of these papers are - KI Memories Disco, Lipstick, Eye Candy...Ali Edwards' Two Busy Moms...and then there are some pretty new ones that just aren't my style. It's time to purge.

Hello, newly organized and sorted pretty papers. Papers that I know I'll use. When I looked at my papers I realized 99% of them fit into a category...so I sorted them that way - Ledger/Lined, Vintage, Floral, Dot, Stripe, Plaid/Check. Then there are those that I know by brand name - Sassafras Lass, Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route, October Afternoon, Jenni Bowlin...all with their own little section. Doesn't really look like a lot in this photo, but there are lots of papers here. Definitely not as many as I'm getting rid of. But it feels SO good to have this done! I don't see any reason to have a huge stack of anything that I won't use. All of these papers are going with me to the scrapbooking retreat next weekend and will be donated in stacks to the silent charity auction with all proceeds going to Open My World. So, all of you retreat paper hoarders....this stack is coming at you next weekend! (along with bags of chipboard, rub-ons, alpha stickers, and rubber stamps)

I was just thinking yesterday that I need to do this very thing with my paper and stickers. Just have so much I'll never use, however I don't have a stack as tall as your's!

Well, do it! I should never have let the stack get so big. I just kept rearranging it and thinking I'd use it. Feels so good and I have an empty shelf now, lol.

I have some serious purging to do. We're downsizing & I'm losing my scraproom. Of course, a sunroom with a gorgeous view comes with the new house. But where am I going to put all this stuff? In the past I've donated stuff to the Senior Citzens Center & the local YMCA after school/summer program.

*sigh*...to be that organized. All my papers were so heavy...my poor little carts wheels broke! LOL. Yep, I should do that too. Thanks for the inspiration.

You are so good to be purging the stash! I'm slowly working my way through mine. Even making a commitment to 'attempt' to use it up is a challenge. You can make a heckuva lot of cards with just a few sheets of paper! (I think it multiplies in the dark. Like bunnies.)

get this: i bought hundreds of sheets of paper from hobby lobby YEARS ago (they were purging) that i didn't even like because i thought i could sell them. what was i thinking??? i never sold them and they've been sitting in my *studio* until this week... i put them all in a box for *goodwill* - i can't believe i hoarded it for this long.

this week... it's GONE! so excited to see some *white space* in my room!

Isn't it a great feeling to get rid of stuff that you don't need and make room for things you'll actually use! I helped a friend clean her SB room today and she purged a laundry basket full of stuff, a stack of magazines and three garbage bags full of garbage that has just piled up. I went through my stuff about a month ago and got rid of a bunch as well. I'm more organized and can scrap so much faster! :)

Oh my, I bet that feels AWESOME! I am in awe! I need to do the same. I have my slabs currently around my chair legs, because my paper shelf(s) are full of unused paper. I think I will be taking a big box to my next crop, and hoping it doesn't need to return home. :)

Good for you Jennifer!!! I always give my excess to my Daugher in Love. She is a middle school art teacher and teaches art enrichment for the YMCA's summer camps. My son is YMCA afterschool director for the Leander School district. It feels good to purge and know that it is going to a cause. Hope you raise lots of money at the retreat.
