Good morning!

This week sure is going by quickly. Hope you're having a great one! Beginning on Friday is the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival. People come from all over the world for this event - musicians, spectators, and media. We've gone in the past, but this year we have three day passes! We won't be staying the entire time each day, but we have the freedom to come and go to see the bands we like all three days. Check out this line up of music! Look down the list..... do you have any recommendations? (you can click on any of the artists' names and hear music samples) There is no way we can see them all. I personally can't wait for Alison Krauss, Belleville Outfit, and the Foo Fighters! My sweet husband is so excited...he's been watching You Tube videos and listening to tracks from all of the lesser known groups. I'm going to secretly be on celebrity alert. :)

The only thing I'm not looking forward to - porta-potties. Got my baby wipes and Charmin to go, just in case. :)

(Oh, and Noah is not going. Whenever we decide to head over there, he'll be happily playing at his cousins' brand new house a few blocks away)

UPDATE: I was driving downtown earlier to return books at the library and I saw the Blues Traveler tour bus. Fun!

We were terrible, cause in all the years we lived there I don't think we ever went! Should have though, always heard it was good. Miss that place. Hope you have a great time and yeah, you'll probably see some (celebs)! : D

I used to visit some friends who had relatives in Corpus (I would go up with the relatives for things like this since I was single and carefree!Ha! LOL!) and we went to the ACL Music Festival a couple of times. LOVED IT! Haven't been to anything as cool or as much fun since. Enjoy!

This is where I fell in love with Stevie Ray Vaughan, I watched him at ACL on tv years ago and I was mesmorized!! I have never been the same since...I would see rodney crowell, eraka badu, shooter jennings only because in the 70's I loved his fathers music so much, during my cowgirl days! Oh there are so many to choose from! Have fun, can't wait for the updates!!

Here's my list of those I'd see Jen. And I'm very jealous, just so you know!

John Fogerty-he was part of CCR back in the 70's.
Erykah Badu-love her music.
Robert Earl Keen-keeping the twang in country.
Asleep At The Wheel-Texas swing in the spirit of Bob Wills.
Shooter Jennings-because of his father Waylon's legacy, and a darn fine artist in his own rite.
And just because I think their name is totally rockin'-Yonder Mountain String Band! I listened to a bit of their music from the website and my toes were tappin' and I was smilin'!

Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it.

I'm SO jealous! Some day I'm going to get here ...

Foo Fighters put on the BEST concert.

Must-sees:
Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes "fame")
G. Love & Special Sauce - you might know his song "Cold Beverages"
Jakob Dylan (Bob's son, Wallflowers lead singer)
Vampire Weekend
Tristan Prettyman - she had a single this summer - "Madly"

This looks like it's going to be awesome! I was going to say I'd definitely see the Foo Fighters, but you already said they were on your list. Gnarls Barkley would be cool to see too. Heck, I'd go see anyone on that list!

Hey Jennifer

I agree with Sue's comment - Asleep at the Wheel is a definite must for me.

I absolutely love Alison Kraus and Union Station music HOWEVER, it says she is appearing with Robert Plant of Led Zepplin fame. I am not a fan of his or Led Zep, so I would think that their set will mostly be dedicated to the album they put out a few months back. That's just my thinking on that. But any other time Alison Kraus & Union Station are playing - I am there!

Also, Rodney Crowell would be another good one. He is a verrrry good songwriter.

I hope you have a great time.

Ooooh, I would love to see Allison Krauss and Robert Plant. Love their music and style.

Have fun at ACL -- I'll be avoiding Zilker [and Austin] this weekend. :)
