Good morning!

Just a quick note....if you leave me a comment question and I don't reply to you, it's not because I'm rude. Blogger doesn't give you commenters' email addresses, so unless you log in and leave an email address, I have no way to contact you. Sorry about that. Email me directly if you have a question about something.

The painters are finishing today...yay! Now I'm trying to decide on a color that I'll use for the half-bath. I want a fun color, but not blinding bright. I can't decide - cherry red, aqua, spring green...too many choices! And it needs to look good with the living room since they are right next to each other. We'll see...

This table runner is one I got from Anthropologie. (click for a better view/zoom) I LOVE it. So different and colorful! I have a hutch in the breakfast room that is painted black, so I'll be filling it with items to go with this fun runner. I already had it in my mind and on my schedule to look for specific things next week at the antique mall, and then I look at Stephanie's blog and see she's been thinking the same thing. ha! I love the vintage floral cake pans, biscuit tins, and canisters, so I want to look for different colors/patterns of those. I think that would be fun on the black shelves. Again, we'll see what I can find.

Random gripe.....why can't they make graham crackers in resealable packages?

Since I don't have much access to my kitchen today, this morning I put this recipe in the crockpot. These are SO good and perfect for a summer day when you don't want to cook! I'm serving these with fresh fruit salad and baked lay's chips.

BBQ Beef Sandwiches

1 3-lb. roast (I used a lean london broil)

1/2 c. water

3 Tbsp. vinegar

2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. chili powder

3 c. BBQ sauce (use a good one!)

kaiser rolls or hamburger buns (I have wheat buns to use)

1. Trim fat from roast. Cut meat, if necessary, to fit in crockpot.

2. Add water, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, and chili powder to crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or high 4-5 hours.

3. About 1 hour before serving, remove the meat from the crockpot. Discard cooking liquid . Using two forks to pull, shred meat and return to crockpot. Stir in BBQ sauce. Cover and cook on low setting until heated thru. If you are in a hurry, use the high setting. Serve on buns. Yield: 12-14 sandwiches.

I'm going to the store right now to get me a roast! This sounds so good! Thanks for sharing your recipes. What a fantastic idea. If I cooked more, I would share some of mine, but alas, I don't cook very often anymore.
