We escaped this weekend to a gorgeous resort, just 30 minutes from our home. When you are there, though, you feel like you are truly on vacation and far away from home and responsibilities. It was just wonderful, especially since full routine sets in this coming week with David's vacation over and Noah starting back to school. If you live near Austin or in central Texas, you really need to spend a weekend here - Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa. It's even more fun in the summertime when the lazy river and pool area are open. Noah went horseback riding, we rode bikes, went on a raft trip down the Colorado River (seen in the background of this photo), went antique shopping in downtown Bastrop, ate wonderful meals, roasted marshmallows for S'mores, and even got to play Guitar Hero in the activity game room, ha. :) It was a wonderful last hurrah for Christmas vacation.

I'm working on getting all of the Christmas things completely put away and organized today. It kinda sorta drove me nuts while we were gone, knowing it was all sitting here waiting for me. But that's ok. Exactly why David had us LEAVE the house for the last few days of vacation rather than stay home. Because he knew I'd organize, ha. :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Some girlfriends and I stopped by there late at night on our way back from Fredricksburg. We got out and checked out the place. Seems really nice. Would love to stay there in the summer time with the pool and the other things to do.

Jennifer...what a hoot. We were there just ahead of you during the week. We probably just missed each other (we checked out on Friday). We had the best time tho. I would love to go back during the warmer months, too. Glad you had a fun time!!
