That was weird to type "08."
Happy New Year, everyone!

I have spent the entire day in the kitchen, taking everything out of the cabinets, dusting, and rearranging. I am ALL about my kitchen right now. Very inspired to get it all organized, get rid of lots of things I don't use, and to replace and replenish some items. My new cookware and Nigella Lawson items for Christmas are what inspired this reorganization. I can't put pretty new things in messy cabinets! I also need to go thru my spices in the pantry and throw out many...and replace several. THAT will be fun. I love spices and those pretty glass spice jars. I'll take some finished photos of the kitchen this week and share how I organized everything.
In keeping with the kitchen theme, I've added some recipe links to the right side of my blog. I hope they inspire you like they do me! Right now in the crockpot (my new red one I bought for the holidays) I'm cooking some Ham and Beans. Smells so yummy. I'm making some cornbread to go with them and we'll have that for dinner. I also just added some inspirational links for decorating, color, vintage...everything I love. I know you'll love them, too.
Two nights ago I just felt like scrapbooking...just anything. So I pulled out the photos from Noah's scout day camp this past summer. It was fun to just do a simple two-pager with lots of color and photos. You can click the layout above to see a close-up. Here's a closer shot of the right side of the title, showing how I added rub-on letters to the orange file folder tab and outlining to the letter stickers for definition. That burlap ric-rack was fun to use, too.

Have a wonderful first day of 2008!

#3. I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw your post about a salt pig by Nigella (love her!). I thought it was an actual pig!!! but no. I have my kosher salt on a little shelf above my stove in this cute little pig container. I use it for sprinkling all the time!

#4 Happy New Year! many blessings to you and yours!
