Hi!
Just a quick post tonight....

After months of it slowly getting more loose and Noah REFUSING to pull it out....today he forgot, bit on a sandwich, and a few hours later the tooth was out! This is his first tooth to lose. He's got a slow mouth, just like me. :)

Man, he looks so cute without that tooth.

He told us tonight "you know, I don't believe in the tooth fairy. Why would a woman in a big dress with a wand want to come into our home to get my tooth?" He's so logical...just like his chemistry-degree Daddy. But then....(I almost cried...well, I did) he said, "and I think the same thing about the Easter Bunny and Santa." So after much questioning about WHERE this came from and him saying, "I just thought about it because of the tooth fairy" we told him that Santa actually WAS a real person that loved to give to others and that we believe that he would want us to carry on that tradition to celebrate Jesus' birthday by giving. He backtracked with "well, I actually DO believe in Santa." I think he was worried that if he didn't believe, he didn't receive, ha! So, I think there may be some doubt, but still a sense of magic and fun about Santa. And we ended with a talk about NOT telling anyone else this because the whole fun of it is believing. (and that I would find out if he told anyone because their parents would tell ME, lol)

I feel sad....like I need to cry really hard one time. He's just growing up so fast. I look forward to all of the fun new things he can do each day, though....and I'd never make him feel "guilty" for maturing.
We shopped for school clothes yesterday and his shoe size is 1 1/2 now....1/2 size bigger than Spring. It made me smile, though, that he still wanted (and got) the Transformers light up sneakers. :)

I guess I just needed to write all of this down. Sorry, no recipes or projects today.
Just a future scrapbooking journal entry... :)

Blessings,
Jennifer

Awwww I know how you feel about growing up! I feel like I'm missing it sometimes too since I'm trying to keep up with two littler kids :( He looks so cute with that gap! Luke was looking at his picture and he said "The tooth fairy's not real!" Then he covered his ears and screamed "She's real!! I BELIEVE!!" haha

Oh man, I wish my kids would figure out about Santa/the Easter Bunny/tooth fairy... Zoe is almost 11 and still believes in all three. It's getting to the point where it's going to be embarrassing, but I just don't want to tell her, lol.

I can't believe Noah just now lost his first tooth! Audrey's the same age and has lost at least 8!

When you're Noah's age each day holds an adventure. Losing his tooth was just one of those adventures. You're going to enjoy each adventure with him as he grows. Just watching his excitement makes the sadness pale a bit. Grandma

I so miss the losing teeth years. The year that Gracie lost teeth in the front, it worked out that she lost ALL FOUR front teeth (2 up, 2 down) at Christmas. I could not have been more excited, because she got to sing the song with "4 front teeth"! Love the missing teeth look.

Congrats on being part of Donna D's event in April!

Oh, and I am going to come live in your studio. Or stalk you at flea markets. You find all kinds of stuff I would love to have, too!

Oh Jennifer,
Big hugs to you! I know exactly how you feel. Although I love watching my kids grow and learn new things I silently mourn the loss of their babyhood and dependence on me. Dang it now I'm crying :-)
Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing a moment that is close to your heart.

watching them grow up is the most amazing experience; yet it's sad too. I have a 8 year old and he still believes in Santa and I know the time is nearing when we'll either have to tell him or he'll find out for himself. It makes me sad because that's one of the reason Christmas time turns magical for our family.
