HOUSTON SCRAPBOOKERS: If you live in the Houston area or want to just drive there... :) I'm teaching at a scrapbooking retreat in June, sponsored by Lone Star Scrapbook Co. Here is the information about the dates, hotel, teachers, etc. Don't wait to register..it will fill up! :D
Storage...it's one of my favorite things. :) I'm trying to move away from plastic storage in my scrapbook area and incorporate more of my antique and junk shop finds. I also like to use unexpected items for storage. Above, I used sugar and cheese holders to store some of my favorite flowers by color. Below, I used an antique printer's tray that I've had for a while to hold buttons, brads, and a few other small embellishments, also by color. It's very inspiring and easy to find what I need. And yes, the tray is portable! Just cover it with Glad Press 'n Seal wrap, running your finger over each compartment edge. This will seal it, making it easy to take in your car. (just keep it level, on the floorboard) The printer's trays are available at any antique store and come in a variety of sizes. (this one is 11x17)

And this is a vintage green 45-record holder I found at Uncommon Objects.
I keep all of my rub-on and chipboard alpha sheets in it. :)
Still has the old acrylic handle and buckle closure.

I've been working on a canvas class, big 16x20 size.
I love scrapbooking on canvases!
Here's a peek at some of it laid out...

And finally....a big huge congratulations to my good friend Kimber McGray!
She was chosen as a 2007 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame winner!
I'm SO happy for you, friend. :)
(if you click on her name on that list, you can hear her phone call from Lisa) :D

Have a wonderful evening!

I love the thought of incoporating antique storage ideas too, sort of Rebecca Sowerish! I saw a printer drawer today for sale (and thought of you!). I nearly bought it but it was HUGE, too big for my small space unfortunately.....but it was really awesome. I probably just should've gotten it anyway!

I just love your storage ideas, very cute. I don't think I would've thought to use a painters tray for small embellies. Thanks for the ideas and keep them coming!

LOVE the sugar shakers--great idea---they might start popping up in my scrap room! I too like using antique and "junk" finds in my room--I've found some great old jars and luggage.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi -
I have found your blog through Stacey Kingman and have to ask where or where did you find that house to do your project.

I live in Seattle, or otherwise I would be right there in that class.

If they are able to be purchased anywhere on the internet, I would so appreciate knowing where.

Your creativity is fabulous.

Oh how Fantastic! I *LOVE* the way you're storing your flowers and your buttons. I just bought an old curio shelfy thing kindof like the one you have your buttons in and i have it standing up, holding my vintage thread. I just mentioned how I was trying to get away from plastic storage - small world, huh?
