Happy February! :)

I love this vintage birthday party photo. It reminds me of my Mom and how she always gave us fun, old-fashioned birthday parties when we were growing up. My 38th birthday is Sunday, February 4th, and she's still making me a cake. :)

I get to share my birthday with Superbowl Sunday this year. Oh, joy. :) But I'm teaching a home decor class on Saturday and consider that a treat for the weekend!

Had a pulmonologist appointment today to check on my asthma. Doing fine....just have a slight ear infection. He told me to get some Sudafed to open up my ear, so I'm sort of on a Sudafed "weird" trip right now. Just feel sort of spacey. No wonder you have to give them your driver's license at the pharmacy to get this stuff.

This is what my living room/fireplace area looks like right now. Have my boxes almost packed, ready to ship to Massachusetts tomorrow. Then just pray that they all arrive. Intact. :)

I just redid my mantle for February and Spring. Used a shabby chic look with white, turquoise, and red. I love those colors together.

I collect mismatched silver taper candleholders. (one of the few things I do collect) I recently bought some green candles to put in them. I love this color of green.

Aren't they pretty? I love silver.

For my birthday, my Mom makes me a Hummingbird Cake. I love anything baked with bananas, so this is a YUMMO cake. (as Rachael Ray would say) Here's the recipe: Hummingbird Cake

I don't know if you noticed or not, but the Pink Martini logo on my right toolbar is gone.
I decided to step down from the team so I could concentrate solely on my teaching.
Now I'm design team-less, lol. But last night I got a new idea for an entirely new, fresh set of home decor classes. I can't WAIT to start planning them. They will have a fun theme. :)

Off to tape boxes. God bless! :)

Well, Happy Birthday Jennifer! I hope you have the best birthday ever! I absolutely love those green candles in the silver candleholders! I think you're very fabulous for getting out there doing your own thing with your new classes. I'm sure they'll be amazing! I too wish I were close enough to take them! And I do now have that recipe, so I'll let you know how my cake turns out!
