Oh man....it is COOOOOLLLLLDDDDD here! Barely got out of the 30's today with wind chills in the low 20's. That is very cold for Austin. Wow...but I love it! Made me wish I wasn't finished with my Christmas shopping. :)

So tonight for dinner I made homemade chili, cornbread, sweet tea, and warm gingerbread.
My Mom came over to eat, too.
Had the fireplace on...was very cozy and warm.
I love this time of year :)

Here are some pictures I took while I was waiting for dinner to finish.

(the stair photo is the garland and lights I have on our stairs. I bought wired ribbon at Hobby Lobby that has little Santa hats on it and made bows)

Hint...in your chili, substitute crushed tomatoes for the tomato sauce.
Makes it a really good consistency and gives it great flavor!

From Target....was really good!

Stay warm!! :)

Jen,

I agree on the chili...my recipe calls for stewed tomatoes and I love it. The sauce would taste too ketchupy to me.

And yes, brrrr! my kids are all hoping for snow of course....they are so spoiled with us getting snow the last 2 years!

Stay warm!

Oh man. We love chili and eat it quite a lot. Send some of that cold air our way here in FL. We are still in the low 80's. Too warm for me heading into the Christmas season. I am hoping to stay home and finish my decorating. Your house looks very festive.
