Good morning!
I put up a lot of our Christmas decorations last week, so I thought I'd share a little.
This is a photo of our Christmas tree and the decor on the mantle. (you can click on the photo to enlarge it)
Our tree is not a big fancy, matching ornaments kind of tree.
It is full of handmade ornaments from Noah's Mom's Day Out days, ornaments I've purchased on vacations, some given to us as wedding gifts...all mismatched, yet all meaningful. I just love it.
I can look at any ornament on the tree and can probably tell a little story about it
or at least know where I got it.
It is absolutely beautiful to me.
I used to have all white lights, but Noah asked for colored lights this year. I think it's so much fun. :)
On the mantle, I have garland with white lights, a string of Santa suit glittery garland, a greenery wreath, and some Santa decor. Tip: Group like items together when you decorate. Makes it EASIER to decorate and also makes each item stand out more than just being scattered around the house.
I made our family stockings years ago. They are just those felt Bucilla kits, but they were a lot of fun!
We always had handmade stockings when I grew up (at my Mom's house I still have the SAME one I had when I was little) so it was important to me for us to have these. David's is Santa on the computer (ha, perfect for him), mine is an angel with long, curly hair, and Noah's is Noah's ark. :) We also have a stocking for Jesus. (got it online) You are supposed to write down things that you do for others during the Christmas season and put the pieces of paper in the stocking. That way you are giving Jesus a gift, doing things for others. I love that. :)
Well, I am a minivan Mom! We went yesterday and bought the white Odyssey van. :D I feel SO blessed! It's going to be so handy for carrying around Noah and his cousins, for road trips, and also for driving distance teaching dates next year. Never thought I'd drive a van!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Such beautiful decorations, Jennifer! I love especially that your tree is not all matchy-matchy and that you know so much about each ornament & why it is special.
We did get our tree up & decorated today...now I just need to try to get some decent photos. :)
Have a great week!

Your home as always looks just beautiful!!! And have fun with your new car! They're so nice aren't they? Love the smell!
A Jesus stocking- a wonderful idea! A great tradition to start this year. We started putting little pieces of 'hay' (yellow construction paper) into a cardboard manger as our little gifts to Jesus throughout the Advent season. The more hay in the manger, the softer Jesus' bed was for him to lay down in. I love your idea, too!
I can't wait to get our decorations out!
Welcome to the world of mini-van mamas!!! I've driven one for 11 yrs. now!
beautiful tree and decorations! congratulations on your new ride!
