Those Yellow Boots

I have a cousin who has a son about 5 years older than Noah. She always gives us the things he has outgrown....really wonderful stuff! She recently gave us these yellow rain boots that her son can't wear anymore. Noah absolutely LOVES THEM. He wears them when he's playing superhero or messing around the house. I can hardly get him to take them off! Well, this morning we were headed to Walmart and to get his hair cut. He got himself dressed then said he wanted to wear his yellow boots. I asked him if he was sure since those were the ONLY shoes he'd have with him. He was sure...and wore them. I got lots of laughs and smiles from other mothers, especially those of boys. That look of "I've been there!" But you know, I didn't mind him wearing them. I thought it was pretty hilarious and I am so glad he felt like he could wear them without caring what anyone thought. He's 6 and has a wonderful personality. I'm so glad! What a blessing and source of laughter he is each day. :) And this is how I want to remember him. Wild hair, needing a haircut, silly faces, mismatched clothes....because that's HIM. :)
