Planning for Disney and Universal!

SO EXCITED! We are going to Disneyworld and Universal Studios with my sister and her family. Noah is THRILLED to have his best friend/cousin going. What a huge blessing! :) So today I'm starting to plan some "trip bags" for the two boys. We are taking the Gamecube, of course, so I have a brand new game for them to open in the car. I'm going to try to find them some bean bag lap desks, too. I'll also include some new books, coloring books and markers, travel board games, Travel Bingo, Disney story CDs, anything fun and portable I can find. :) Last year we even took our TIVO and a portable small car TV screen! (had lots of Noah's favorite shows recorded) Any other suggestions that have worked for your kids??

The other day Noah told me, "Mommy, I want THIS kind of music at my birthday party...with no words. Just the music." Um....it was hard rock music! LOL I swear he's got his Dad's musical taste. We are pretty tame about what we listen to around here, but David loves some good rock and guitar. I guess Noah does too. (but we won't be playing it at his birthday party!) I can just imagine jamming to Aerosmith or Metallica at a 6 year old party. Not happening. :)

I'm very much a t-shirt and jeans type of girl. I like the simplicity, I guess. I recently discovered that I LOVE the new Old Navy perfect tees. They are so comfy, beautiful colors, great sleeve length (not too "cap" and not too long) and the length is good, too.

I do NOT like really short t-shirts. Unfortunately, sometimes the t-shirts that I buy shrink up and become way too short to wear. (for me, anyway...not showing my belly button to anyone) But I discovered a really great solution. I ordered some long camisoles (spandex/cotton) to wear under the shirts that are too short. You know, that "layered" look that is in right now. The camisoles are from Shade Clothing and are awesome! I have them in 6 colors. You can also tuck them in to your jeans and they solve the problem of the low-rise jeans showing too much of the LOW. :) (not that I do this, but just another way to wear them) Check them out!

Have to cut this post short since I need to go shopping. Have a wonderful day! :)

Jen, we did this "goody bag" thing when my kids were little (they're probably your age now! LOL)and we did a rubic's cube, a slinky, books, crayons, coloring books, travel bingo, a magic slate and an etch-a-sketch... Also do you remember those things where there was a bald man's head inside and some type of metallic shavings and you used the magnetic pencil to put hair on his head? We always had one of those and some different card games and instead of those bean bag lap desks, we had little tray tables meant for breakfast in bed (we had strawberry shortcake for our dd and I forget what we had for ds, maybe Star Wars) They had a little edge so things didn't slip off the tray. We also took funny snack things like Pez containers, small tupperware containers of goldfish crackers, etc. The kids weren't allowed to play with this travel kit between trips, but we kind of kept it put up for trips. I know you will have a wonderful time!!!

I live in those Old Navy perfect-fit tees also! Good tip about the camisoles....I see girls layer them and always think it's so cute but never think to do it myself. Duh! You'll have a wonderful time at Disney....be sure and buy one of the guide books and plan your days in the parks, otherwise you'll never see everything you want to see.

I completely know what you are saying about the short t-shirt thing. I have a few shirt that do that. Hate it. I bought some camasoles at Costco and they work pretty well (mainly wear them to bed), but they tend to creep after a while. Good thing they are layered or I'm wearing them to bed ;-)

Hi Jennifer- I'm a lurker from the scrapbooking board on AOL, and happened across your blog one day. I have a question about the cami's you posted. I'm always looking for the perfect cami and have yet to find it. If I find a cami that is actually long enough (I love the layered look with the old navy shirts too!) then it has a built in bra, if it doesn't have the bra in it, it is too short. I can't win! Anyways- do these cami's have a built in bra in them? Also are they really thin? I was looking at the website that you posted, and I am thinking about trying them out. My email is SnShYnFaCe@aol.com
