Thankful For Today!

What a beautiful Thanksgiving it was for our family! Lots of delicious food, precious family all around us, loud kids, and funny moments. We all cried a little during the blessing as we missed my Dad's voice saying the prayer. But David did a beautiful job :) I am so thankful for so many gifts from the Lord today.
With all of the leftovers we had today, I came up with a solution for distributing them that worked out really well. I had 2 large Gladware containers for each person/couple at Thanksgiving dinner, so they each filled their containers with whatever leftovers they'd like to take home, put their names on them, and put them in the refrigerator until it was time to leave. This way no one went home with a huge dish of what they originally brought and everyone got to take some of each item home. :) I'm doing that every year!

My Mom is spending the night in our guest room so we can get up at 5:00 a.m.!! Can't wait...we are headed to meet my other sisters, going to Starbucks for holiday coffee drinks, then straight to Toys R Us, Target, and a few other places. I love Black Friday!

I wanted to share a little decoration that I made while rearranging some things in preparation for Christmas. I took the mirror from my mantle (see my blog banner above) and put it on my coffee table with this candle and candle wreath in the middle. I love how *different* and unexpected it is. :)
Happy Thanksgiving....Happy Shopping tomorrow.....and bring on the Christmas!! :)
Love to all,
- Jennifer

What a great idea w/the leftovers!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I can't wait to hear about what sort of luck you had shopping on Black Friday! I wasn't brave enough to battle the crowds so I lost out on the good deals this year. Ah well!

Oh my gosh! I love what you did with the mirror. I've used mirrors on tabletops before and I am always pleased with the results. I'd forgotten that little design trick - thanks for the reminder.

Now, about that Gladware. I just laughed out loud when I read how you handled the left overs. BRILLIANT, Jennifer. I love Gladware so much that I almost blogged about it on Thanksgiving night. But then I decided not to blog at all, so my love affair with Gladware went undocumented.

Hi Jennifer,
I can't wait to hear about your shopping excursion, I have never gone shopping on black friday, I am not much of a shopper. We ate at the local casino at the steakhouse for Thanksgiving, I will cook a big feast for everyone on Christmas, my son will be in town, his birthday is Dec.23, he will be 22! My how time flies!
