....at least that's what Noah says he wants to be - a Pediatrician. Cool! :) He LOVES his doctor and always says he wants to be one when he grows up. I hope it sticks! He's also planning on being a chef and a firefighter. Can't say he's not diverse. :)
Well, here he is. My little baby all ready for his first day of Kindergarten this morning. He did SO well, too. David and I walked him in, helped him get ready for his day and followed the morning routine posted on the chalkboard. He was very proud of himself and was walking tall. Then I said, "we'll see you later, Noah. I love you," and his smile disappeared. His eyes got red, his mouth drooped, and he started to cry just a little. Oh boy, this is NOT what I needed to see. So we hugged him, told him Mommy would be back after Art class and that we were SO proud of him. He seemed ok and his teacher walked over to talk to him. She said, "I prayed for him last night." (he had cried a little at parent orientation) Wow, what a huge blessing to have a teacher say that to me the first day of school.
I've taken the video out of my blog. I think the linking site is causing problems on my computer. Plus I don't want it to be something that keeps you from reading my blog if the video is crashing your system.

Alrighty...the recipe I'll share today is really easy and simple but YUMMY. Noah loves it when I make this for dinner. :) It's great when you want something like lasagna but don't want to take all of that time to make dinner.
Baked Ziti
8 ounces ziti
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce
1 tsp. oregano
1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. dried parsley
1. Cook ziti in boiling, salted water according to package directions; drain.
2. Lightly brown beef and onion in a saucepan. Pour off any excess fat. Add garlic, tomatoes with can liquid, tomato sauce and oregano. Simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Preheat oven to 350ยบ.
4. Mix cooked ziti and sauce together in a 2-1/2-quart baking dish. Combine Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses; sprinkle lightly over ziti mixture. Sprinkle with parsley.
5. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly. Yield: 6 servings

He will learn sooo much this year, it is fun to watch them come to Kindergarten knowing nothing, and they leave READING books !!

I am so proud of you and your guys. It is tough the first day but just think of how smart your little guy is and how he will be the star of the classroom.
I make that same ziti recipe! YumYum. Have you ever made spaghetti pie? It was one of my boys favorites when they were all home!

A little side note about kindergarten teachers. . .
Mine was at my wedding.
Totally didn't know it, but her dh was my sil's dad's business partner (that make sense?) and when they got married the year before we did, there Mrs. Lee was at the wedding. I saw her and instantly knew who she was. I went and told her I was engaged (it was a secret as I hadn't had my candle ceremony at school yet) and she said "Make sure to send me an invitation". And she came.
You can bet I made sure that the photographer took a picture of Mrs. Lee and I on that day. . . .I don't know if I've got one from when I was in K, but I've got one from then.
My kids love that story . . .and always want pics of them with their teachers, just in case.
Jennifer you and David have done well with Noah, he will shine in Kindergarten for sure! I cried right along with you reading this entry, I remembered putting Josh on the bus for Kindergarten 11 years ago and cried all the way to work. I gets easier, and sounds like he has a great teacher already!

I just wanted to let you know I really enjoy reading your blog. I used to post on the OT board but things have been busy so I haven't been there lately.
My 5 yo little guy also started kindergarten this year - and it's tough. He's supposed to walk in by himself - but that has only happened once since school started last Tuesday (I'm not sure if he's having a hard time or if it's me! LOL). My dd is in 5th grade and it's much different for her - I barely get a kiss from her as she goes out the car door (she really loves school).
I just cherish all these things - my one child who doesn't want to leave me to go out into the world and my other one who can't wait to get out of the car! I'm not sure which is harder......sigh
It's just amazing what parenthood does for ones prayer life!

Okay girlfriend, thanks for making me cry right here in the hotel room in St. Louis. You are such a great mom. This is a very difficult day for Noah and for you... but it is also a HUGE day when it comes to the passage of the child to the young man. Noah looks like a young man in the photos. He is so handsome. And, you are right, he is holding his head high - he is proud and I know you are too. HUGS, my special friend. This is the beginning of an exciting time in your life.
OK...I am crying AGAIN, Jen!! :o) I so relate to how you felt today. I am finding my moments of crying hit me when I least expect it...or maybe it is when I am not hearing my school name all of the time from 25 students! LOL
Wow Jennifer - congratulations on making it though a tough one with such grace. Although my daughter is 12 and had her first day of 7th grade today - I have been lifting her up in prayer all morning and your entry has blessed me. Thanks girl!!!
