I Can See Clearly Now...

Well, here they are! I got two new pairs of glasses and this is one of them. I actually really like them. :) These are black thin frames and the other pair is brown with magnetic sunglasses shades that clip on. Pretty cool. It's going to take my eyes a little while to get used to wearing them and I have to wear them all the time. Doctor's orders. I have astigmatism in both eyes and have had trouble for a while seeing details at a distance. Now I need to do a layout about them :)

I'm feeling happy and blessed again today. I'm very over the whole design team thing. I'm disappointed yeah, but in the most important things in life it ranks pretty darn low for me. My online friend, Brenda, has a husband at home dying of colorectal cancer. They have three young children who will soon lose their Daddy. THAT is important and deserving of my attention and prayer. Having just lost my Daddy about 5 months ago to lung cancer, I can honestly say I know exactly how they are feeling at the moment. Please keep Mark and Brenda in your prayers.

Have you seen the new monogram stamps at Wendi Speciale Designs? @@ How about the other new stamps she's added? You've gotta check her site out! It's so fresh and funky :) (I love the word "funky") Being on her design team is SUCH a HUGE blessing! I don't think I've ever met anyone with more energy than Wendi. How fun to be involved in this grand adventure of hers!

One of my favorite songs to listen to while on the computer is one I downloaded recently from I-Tunes - Who Am I? by Casting Crowns. (click to hear a sound clip) The lyrics just make me cry. So often we think of ourselves as insignificant and unimportant. But God thinks differently. He knows each of us by name and loves us so much. So for the days when I'm feeling small and hidden in the scrapbooking world or in my daily life, I can always know that God knows who I am. :)

Who Am I? - Casting Crowns
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are...

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me.

I am Yours

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

No recipe today :) I wanted to end with this beautiful song.

Love the glasses! I sooooo need to update mine. Last time I got new frames was about 4 years ago.

Glad you're feeling more up about the DT thing. I know that whole submitting thing has to be so frustrating. . .that's why I've hidden from it for so long. I guess I've got a little more than 5 years until I *have* to do it or it will be a goal by 40 I've let slip by!

I've looked at those Wendi S. stamps. . .but so far, haven't plunged. . . I'm just no good at the stamping thing, except the ones you can see through! I LOVE the ones she's got though.

Heather,

You CAN see thru the stamps! They are acrylic. You don't have to use the magnetic mounts. The magnetic backing is an extra feature. They work just as well with your own acrylic blocks. :)

Thanks for the glasses compliment!!

Jennifer, your new glasses are very cool! I need to get some new ones some day. I'm also supposed to wear glasses all the time, but I only really wear them to drive with because I hate the way they look on me. Maybe I need some cool ones like yours :)

Sorry to hear about you leaving your teaching job at the lss :( I know that must have been a very hard decision for you. {{Jen}}

Hugs,
Benita
P.S. Great blog....I saved it in my favorites :)

Hey, Jennifer. I also posted on my blog about Brenda. It really puts life into perspective, you know? Having said that, I also understand your feeling bummed about the design team thing. I don't let people see how I get my hopes up, sometimes, but I do. Right now, I have a layout in a contest at my LSS and even though I know chances are I WON'T win because so many of the owners friends have also submitted layouts, I know I will be upset if I don't also. By the way, I also love your glasses. I have such a difficult time finding glasses. I mainly wear contacts but have to have lightweight contacts for day-after's and late-nights.
