As I start to make my serious preparations for Inspired Artist Workshop, I'm ordering supplies, putting things into bags, cutting paper and ribbon...things like that. Each one of my students will get 4-5 buttons for the project I'm teaching. Well, new buttons are boring. So I've been hunting on Ebay and (today) estate sales and junk shops for tattered, loved, thread-still-attached, vintage buttons. At the estate sale this morning, a very last minute trip, I asked if there were any buttons and the sweet lady took me to the kitchen. She had this huge bag on the counter. I tried not to squeal when she handed them to me. ha :) So, Inspired students, you'll be seeing these buttons again very soon. Oh...I also bought the gorgeous paper mache tray that you can sort of see under the buttons, and the vintage Easter paper decor in the next photo. (She had tons of postcards, but my back was killing me looking at all of them in the box!) The lady used to be an antique dealer, so she had some pretty awesome stuff. I arrived on the third (last) day of the sale, so all of my finds were 1/2 off. Yeehaw!

This afternoon we hung around the house and I made some homemade guacamole and BBQ sandwiches. Ok, not a good combo....but I was craving the guacamole.

Have you seen the line up of mini-workshops Donna has planned for Inspired? It's pretty incredible. I plan on walking from room to room so I can see everything! (Those workshops will be in the evenings, during my non-teaching time.)

Gotta go to bed...have a blessed Sunday tomorrow. :)

I'm coming to inspired and I am so excited I can't hardly stand it. I have never done anything like inspired before. Can't wait to see what's going on with the buttons. Thanks for sharing your story.

Oooh Jennifer! Those are gorgeous finds! I can't wait to see them in real life in May! I love the old Easter decorations - we used to have those when I was a kid. I asked Mom what happened to them and she said they were in a box that didn't make it all the way through a move. Ah well - still brings back sweet memories! : )
