4.6.10

Hi, friends. :) Thanks for still coming back to my blog, even though it's not updated as much as I'd like. I keep wanting to have these fantastic crafty, photo-filled easy reading blog posts and they just aren't coming to me! I've been making some time to embroider, though, and have really fallen in love with this hobby. You can see the sampler so far in the first photo and then a few close-ups. It's so fun for it to be freestyle...just adding little bits and pieces wherever you like. I have more spaces to fill and then will finish it off with some trim at the bottom. Not sure if I'll hang it, frame it in a no-glass frame...have to think about that. But I already can't wait to incorporate embroidery into scrapbook pages, some tiny canvases and even some soldered pendants.

I hope you are having a beautiful spring! Please keep coming back...I'm still here! :)

just lovely work! i've gotten back into embroidery lately as well. i've found that michaels will have very nice sales on frames, and what i do is place the stitching in the frame with the glass behind it (to fill the space in the frame), so that any textures in the stitching is evident. a shadowbox would be nice for your piece as well!

I have using embroidery on my scrapbook pages for some time now. I sometimes use rubber stamps for the pattern & love how it turns out - does take a while to finish a page.

Just beautiful Jennifer! So much yummy eye candy! Your post with just your collected supplies was so inspiring to me...can't wait to have a few moments to collect stuff from my stash like you did...I have an empty sewing box just waiting to be filled with yumminess so I can start this kind of freestyle embroidery! You and Rebecca Sower are such inspiration for this!!!
