Some of these vintage images have sort of funky faces on them, huh? :)

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.

We are going to a Christmas pageant this afternoon then I'm going to finish wrapping gifts to put under the tree. Tonight I need to make a shopping list for groceries so I can do some more baking/freeze-ahead cooking this week. Here are some more recipes I'll be using this month:

Emeril's Chicken Pot Pie (I bought 6 of the tiny pie tins and will make 6 mini-pies to freeze. Much better than those Swanson's pies!)

Andes Mint Swirl Cookies (Noah's favorite) You swirl a piece of Andes Mint candy on top of the hot chocolate cookie. Yum!

Truffle Brownies (these just sounded too good not to have a batch made for Christmas, minus the heart sprinkles)

Lemon Ricotta Cookies - mmmm...

Inexpensive Stocking Stuffer Idea - Well, I don't know if this would qualify for inexpensive, but it definitely helps you spread out the spending. Put a coupon book in your child's stocking with coupons for going to his/her favorite places - Chuck E. Cheese, Baskin Robbins, an indoor playpark, etc. Then once a month let him/her choose a coupon to redeem.

What is your favorite inexpensive gift idea for this year? I'd love to hear them.

Hey Peach,

Favorite stocking stuffer you say? Well, it sounds pretty corny...but chapsticks are a big hit in our house! Seriously!! Burt's Bees, Carmex in the cup or tube...Lip Smackers...Mac Lip Gloss for the girlies...all big hits! It gets cold here this time of the year, man!

Stockings in our house usually have Teddy Grahams and Mike and Ikes (since they were little). I'm going to try those mint cookies, esp since I don't like mint so I won't eat them all up! This year I think I'll get gift cards for a movie for each stocking...the 16 yo can use it I know for sure, but I was thinking that DD12 and I will see that Adam Sandler one. A gift card for a movie to use over the break!

Kind of old school, but I pick up Cracker Jacks for stockings. 3 kids~they come in a 3 pack and are cheap. Of course, the prizes are coolio trash like when we were kids, but still fun!

And Button Candy. I've made bows for presents with it too.

We include Silly String in the kids' stockings. We end up having a big war on Christmas morning. Messy, but fun. For teacher gifts this year, I'm making a big batch of Russian Orange Spice Tea and separating it into smaller bags, tied with ribbons, and placed in mugs. With Nicolas having special needs, we have several teachers to include this year. It's a nice (inexpensive) way to thank all of them.

Love all the stocking stuffer ideas! One thing I always include are chocolate coins for the kids; they love them! And we do chapstick too. :)
