The Christmas tree is up and I'm in decorating mode!

I love our tree because - it's not huge, it's not matchy-matchy, almost every ornament has a story or I can remember where we got it, and it has a glittery, vintage touch to it. It's hard to get a good overall shot of the tree, so I took lots of close ups so you could see the ornaments. You'll see everything from glass-glittered snowflakes to homemade ornaments Noah made in preschool to a stuffed Grinch sitting on a branch and a disco ball Mickey Mouse head. :) Lots of lovelies from the Silver Bella ornament swap last year (all handmade of course) and many Shiny Brites and vintage ball ornaments. I love the ones that are scripted with Merry Christmas! on them. So many of these ornaments remind me of my childhood. And some of my personal favorites are the Christmas vignettes that I made in Rebecca Sower's class last year at Silver Bella. (the large, rectangular card style ornaments)

The red/silver tinsel is from my favorite junky store here in Austin, and the silver garland and white/red pom pom garland are from different home stores in town. The star on top is antiqued glitter...and I do believe I got it at Target! And may I say that I'll be glad when the price of LED lights goes down? It's expensive to go green! Not that we'll need more anytime soon since these last for 25,000 hours, lol. It's hard to tell in the photos, but these are Phillips round faceted soft white lights. Love that they look like little snowballs in person. (and that you can string 43 strands together if you like and you use just a tad of electricity.)

Ok, here's our tree. If you have any questions, let me know!
(I left the photos large so you can click on them for better views)

What a beautiful Christmas tree! I have ornaments like you do...just a mish-mash from over the years that each have their own story. And those lights look so nice! You're right, they do look like snowballs!

Pretty, love all the different styles of ornaments that combine to create a memory filled tree! I have that some Target star, had to get it after we had a kitty mishap.

Gorgeous! Funny... I also put my vignettes from Rebecca's class on my tree! We're planning on taking out Christmas stuff out on Thanksgiving this year (early for us). I'm SO looking forward to it. Thanks for the inspiration...
