Good morning :)

Last weekend when I was scrapbooking with friends, they took me to some wonderful little shops. One of them was this fabulous place - Bloom and Bee Swanky. Love that name! This store had a terrific mix of new and vintage displayed all over the store. It was the kind of store I could spend hours in, just looking at every square inch of display. One of my favorite things in the store was a table that they had set. The placemats were opened old ledger books. The placecards were vintage cabinet cards (old) with names and silver glitter accents added (new)! So fun! And the napkin rings were wide strips of old sheet music tied with twine. (Pam took these photos for me...thanks, Pam!) Be sure to click the photos for a larger view.

You can see lots of photos of Bloom and Bee Swanky on the Garden Antiques blog - the place I first heard about it.

Looking for a fun hostess gift idea? If you are going to someone's house for Thanksgiving or anytime during the holidays, it's fun to take a little something to give to the hostess. (not to mention polite) Here's an idea - a Hot Chocolate Tray. :) Sorry, no photos.....it's just in my head. Find a pretty flat basket or tray and line it with a pretty Christmas linen napkin, something thin. Add 2-4 pretty mugs - something different, not your standard Christmas mugs. Find an assortment of small, pretty glass jars, tiny shakers, or even antique containers. (be sure they are clean!) In the containers add marshmallows, cinnamon, candy canes (these are the stirring sticks), sprinkles, red sugar, etc. For the actual hot chocolate, you can include a jar of homemade mix with the recipe OR place a Christmas tin on the tray full of assorted hot chocolate packets.

This would also be fun to have out at your own home during the holiday season for your guests. At home, don't forget the whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Yum!

LOVE Bloom and Bee Swanky! The gals there always do a terrific job. I hated it that I had to miss their last open house. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Your idea for this hostess gift reflects on the warmth in your personality that you show in your blog and to your family...it would make a very cheerful (and not expensive!) gift. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
