Happy Friday!
I did this layout today and it was lots of fun! I always have to have lots of color, photos, and little details on my scrapbook pages, so it was fun putting this together. I received a box of fun new products from Fiskars and used a bunch of them on this layout. The background paper is new from Cloud 9 Design as are the vellum flowers. The flowers are cool...they come in a box of a huge amount of loose flowers, stems, leaves, etc. and you build your own vellum flowers with layers. Fun! The chipboard flower at the top (the glittered one) is new from Li'l Davis. It came plain in a package of lots of different sizes and shapes, all with the cut-outs and stitching on the edges. I glittered mine, but you can also paint, ink, or cover them with patterned paper. The felt ribbon is also Li'l Davis. The other stuff is my own stash. I was glad to find a use for those KI Memories acrylic letters. I think those are considered "old school" now. But I still love them! Speaking of old school.....if you have a source for those Making Memories metal moulding strips...hook me up. I'm wanting some! There are a few on Ebay, but I'd like a bunch. Those were one of my favorite embellishments. Oh, you can click on the layout above to see two close-ups of the embellishments. More Fiskars reviews to come!
We went out to dinner tonight and they were playing 80's music in the bar area. Most of the people were too young to remember some of the obscure songs they were playing. There are the standard "80's songs" they play on 80's day on the radio, but some are really not as well-known. And if you know them, you are a true 80's fan. Heard of these?
Matthew Wilder - Break My Stride (Solid Gold performance)
We did a drill team dance to this song in high school. Groan. WHY?
----------------------------------
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
(I had this cassette tape and I put scotch tape on the holes so I could tape over it later, lol)
----------------------------
Things Can Only Get Better - Howard Jones
------------------------------
Rockwell - Somebody's Watchin' Me
(this video used to scare me when it was on late at night on Night Tracks)
Have a blessed weekend!

I'm a true '80's girl! Not only do I know all of these songs, but I have one of them on my iTunes playlist. hee hee As a matter of fact, I just got an envelope for my 20 year high school reunion last week! YIKES! Could it really have been that long ago?
What a great layout! I love the colors in it and those little flowers are so cute!
I know those songs word for word...as a matter of fact, I'm a bit embarassed by it! Were we really that gay?!?!
Thanks so much for the flashback! I loved Break My Stride and Somebody's watching me! Those videos are a real hoot! I need to surf YouTube more!
OMGosh. WOW. Those really took me back to my "teenage" years. I loved, loved, loved Matthew Wilder's Break My Stride. I still know all the words by heart!!
Oh my gosh! Maija just cracks me up. And yeah, I remember all of these. That's probably really sad. LOL. I loved the obscure ones. Hair Cut 100. (Boy meets Girl). And Rock Lobster. Hey and awesome layout, btw. Just looks fun.

Sad to admit, I know all those songs as well. This 80's gal was more into the "college" alternative music. I loved H.Jones.
Did Mr. Wilder really think that mustache would fool anyone? He was really the lead from Air Supply! hehe
