Good morning!

I stayed up really late doing a new scrapbook page. The creative mood just kind of hit me around 11 p.m. so I thought, "why not stay up?" I don't usually feel creative late at night, but since Monday is my birthday and I knew I'd be able to sleep late...I went with it. (I think having a cup of Starbucks at 8:30 p.m. helped, too, ha) You can click on the photo to see the layout closer. I had a lot of fun with this one. I'm going to leave this layout sitting out so Noah sees it when he wakes up. Hope he doesn't freak out from all the pink and lace. :)

Last night everyone came over to eat chili and watch the Super Bowl. We also celebrated my birthday since it's much easier with all of the kiddos on a Sunday rather than a weeknight. My Mom made me the most WONDERFUL birthday cake. It was a 3-layer chocolate cake and the icing was cream cheese, whipped cream, and powdered sugar with crushed up Hershey's almond candy bars. And all over the top and sides was tons more crushed candy bar. It was soooooooo good. I think this is the recipe she used. :)

Chocoholic's Hershey Bar Cake

1 (18.25 ounce) box Swiss chocolate cake mix
1 cup walnuts, chopped
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
10 Hershey bars with almonds, chopped
1 (12 ounce) container frozen Cool Whip, thawed

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spray two 8-inch square cake pans with baking spray.
Prepare cake batter according to package directions. Add walnuts to batter.

Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely.

Beat cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and granulated sugar with mixer until creamy.
Combine 8 chopped candy bars, Cool Whip, cream cheese, and blend well.

Spread this mixture on the top and sides. Sprinkle remaining two chopped candy bars over the cake and at the bottom edge for edible decoration.

I will post again this afternoon with the winner of the VINTAGE GIVEAWAY!

I love your layout and thank you for the recipe. I can't eat it because of the diabeties, but our church is having a chocolate night for the ladies. I'll pass the recipe on to them. I'll be back later.
