12.17.07

Hope you're staying warm! It's been cool here, but not bitterly cold (highs in the 50s, lows in the 30s). I can't imagine the huge snowstorms that our northern neighbors have been having. I'd love to have a few days a year like that, but I don't envy those who have to shovel snow. :)

Our dinner party on Saturday was lots of fun. Still have lots of enchiladas left, so I'm going to freeze those for a dinner during the holidays when I don't feel like cooking. My whole family (16 of us!) is always together on Christmas Eve and we always do a "theme" dinner. This year, we've decided to have a soup and sandwich bar. I'm looking forward to those crock pots full of soup all lined up in the kitchen. I'll share the recipe when I decide which soup I'll be making.

Here is what I'll be making on Christmas morning for breakfast - Farmer's Breakfast Casserole, Clone of a Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls (I'm adding pecans and raisins), fresh oranges, salsa, tortillas, and Starbucks coffee. All of this can be made the night before and just popped into the oven Christmas morning. For the cinnamon rolls, the dough will rise in the refrigerator overnight. Let them come to room temperature before baking.

Looking for some Christmas music? Here's an Imix I made on Itunes with some of my favorite Christmas songs.

Want to feel old? Watch this Sonny and Cher Christmas special clip. Could their daughter Chastity be LESS interested in being on stage? Poor thing! :) And I love the line up of special guest stars.

Have a wonderful evening!

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. "

What a funny clip! When I showed it to my daughter (who is 12) I pointed out Captain Kangaroo and she said "Who?" So I had to go to You Tube and look it up so I could show her. :)

Okay your recipes sound so fabulous! Can I cheat and just go buy the cinnamon rolls? I'm nervous about making them myself!! Had to tell you that over the weekend I was at the mall and approached The Gap. My jaw dropped at the hunk in the window
(Jim from The Office) in his cutie cute Gap scarf....OMG!! I remembered you writing about that on 2 Peas a while back and gave you a little high 5 here in Omaha! :)
Back to the recipes...dang do I really have to make those cinnamon rolls? Sounds sooooo yummy.
