Literally...

I have very naturally curly hair. I used to hate it, now I love it. It's very easy to manage and I consider it a big blessing. However, I hate to get it cut. Not that I don't like having it actually cut. I just don't trust many people to do it. Unless you know how to cut curly hair, please don't do it. It springs up when it's dry. It doesn't lay like straight hair. You can't do layers the same way as your would straight hair. So, I finally found a guy I like to cut my hair based on referrals from Naturally Curly.com. (love that site!) But he's very busy and very hard to book. I want to get my hair cut sooner than 8 weeks out, so I commented yesterday, "I need to find someone new to cut my hair this time." Noah said, "Why don't you just go to Supercuts?" I said, "well, I need someone really good to do it." Noah said, "Well, Mommy....it IS called SUPERcuts, you know." Haha! A little reminder to me that he's not hip to all advertising and wording tricks just yet. :) (and I only posted a picture of myself to point out the curly issue!)

Noah is slowly catching on to media "embellishing," like when he sees a toy commercial or cereal commercial.... sometimes he'll say, "they are trying really hard to MAKE that look fun, right Mommy?" Of course my comments like "you can't really fly if you eat those" and "those GI Joe dolls don't come with all of the jungle plants and dirt piles you see on there" have been helpful. :)

We are off to the library today and then to IHOP to eat pancakes for lunch. IHOP is one of Noah's favorite restaurants (lol) and he asked me earlier in the week if we could go there. So we have a lunch date. :)

Have a very blessed weekend with your family!

Thanks for the link on the curly hair site. I had no idea there was such a thing. Now I'm wishing I had seen this before I got a haircut a few days ago. (I have naturally curly hair too, but just haven't been wearing it that way for a while.)

Girl, do I ever know what you mean about cutting curly hair. I have it too. LOTS of it. AND I've been crazy enough and broke enough to go to SUPERCUTS and hope and pray only to leave severely upset. Their cuts on curly mops? NOT so super... ANYwho...I go to someone now who "gets it" and cuts my hair DRY and has me flip it upside down, etc. to ensure even trimming/cutting,etc. She's great but expensive. Enjoy the pancake date!!!
