Sweet Things :)

(to the right is part of my ribbon collection... very sweet on scrapbook pages.) :)

Just wanted to list some of my favorite SWEET things today!

Skinny Cow Ice Cream Bars. YUM. These are really so good. I've tried the fat-free ones and the sugar-free. I think I like the sugar-free the best. They are sweetened with Splenda and are very satisfying!

Basic Grey Wholly Cow Rub-Ons. I LOVE these things.
How beautiful are they?

This one is called Flourishes.

The Dollmaker Website. What a fun way to WASTE a couple of hours! You can make a doll of yourself. And the fun part? None of them are over a size 4. :) Here's mine..haha.
(my hair is actually much darker, but they didn't have curly brunette hair) :)

Hanni Baumgardner, Stacey Kingman, Heather Preckel, and Courtney Walsh.

Four mega-talents who know where their talent comes from. :) Sweet, genuine, my friends, and sisters in Christ. :)

Thank you, Lord, for the example they set each day in their blogs, in their words, and in their scrapbooking.

Noah's "Go Make Yourself a Dang Quesadilla!" and "Vote For Pedro" t-shirts. Love them. He gets lots of laughs when he wears them, too. Still Napoleon Dynamite fans here.

My Mom. :) She is such a wonderful Mom AND Grandma. She loves her grandkids and family so much. Here is an email I received from her today, inviting us to lunch at her house on Sunday afternoon. I love it! (she's very "Martha" and we are NOT Irish, lol)

Dear family, I would like for you and all your wee little families to join me at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 19 for a bit o' the Irish! We will have corned beef and cabbage and potatoes. Perhaps a wee bit of the coffee of the Irish. So, grab your shelally and your little leprechauns and jig over to my house. If none of you brogs can come, we'll have it at another time. Love you, your Irish (Chappaqua) Mom

And to end my list, a recipe for one of my FAVORITE sweet things ever. :) I won't be making these any time soon, but had to share the recipe.

Outrageous Brownies

recipe by Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa)

1 pound unsalted butter

1 pound plus 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips, divided

6 ounces unsweetened chocolate

6 extra-large eggs

3 tablespoons instant coffee powder

2 tablespoons real vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups sugar

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided (1 cup for batter and 1/4 cup in the chips and nuts)

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

3 cups diced walnut pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13 by 18 by 1 1/2-inch sheet pan.
Melt together the butter, 1 pound chocolate chips, and unsweetened chocolate on top of a double boiler. Cool slightly. Stir together the eggs, instant coffee, vanilla and sugar. Stir in the warm chocolate mixture and cool to room temperature.
Stir together 1 cup of the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to cooled chocolate mixture. Toss the walnuts and 12 ounces of chocolate chips with 1/4 cup flour to coat. Then add to the chocolate batter. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until tester just comes out clean. Halfway through the baking, rap the pan against the oven shelf to allow air to escape from between the pan and the brownie dough. Do not over-bake! Cool thoroughly, refrigerate well and cut into squares.

Have yourself a sweet weekend! :)

Sweet! :) I personally love the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. Only problem is I can eat the whole package in one sitting, and I'm not sure the "skinny" does me much good anymore when I do that, LOL!!!

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only rabid Napoleon Dynamite fan! I know it's so "totally 6 months ago" (or maybe longer), but I don't care. Funny is funny. Gosh! :-)

First visit to your blog... love it!
