Tagged! (and other things)

(I need a blog title tutor.)

First of all....I got tagged! This was a fun one, so thanks to Jlyne and Benita for the TAG :)

What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was teaching first grade and dating my now wonderful hubby! :)

What were you doing 1 year ago?
I was spending a lot of time taking my father to chemo treatments in San Antonio. I am SO thankful for that time with him since he passed away on Feb. 23rd last year. He's been in heaven almost a year now.

Five snacks you enjoy (in no particular order, as all snacks are created equal):
chocolate
guacamole
sweet and salty mixes like popcorn and chocolate!
fresh fruit
peanut butter

Five songs to which you KNOW all the lyrics:
Really, just about any 80's pop song...(just like Jlyne, LOL). Dh couldn't believe when he met me how many lyrics I could remember!

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:
Get all of my family debt-free
Help our church finish the building project
Adopt a child (or lots of them!)
Build a dream house (although this is not high on the list)
Make sure all of the kids in the family could go to college

Five bad habits:
I always sit on my foot or have to have a foot up when I sit. I'm not a proper "sitter" at all!
I catch myself clenching my jaw a lot. Sometimes I wake up and my jaw hurts.
I check my email WAY too often! :)
Uh...going to Target.
Feeling guilty about "me" stuff.

Five things you like doing:
Scrapbooking!
Helping Noah with school work, reading, etc. LOVE to see him learn!
Listening to music
Cooking, collecting recipes, watching Food Network :)
Hanging out with my big family

Five things you would never wear, buy, or get again:
Clothes that are "peach" color. Yuck on me!
Low thread-count sheets (if given a choice)
Clamato (what the heck? Who thought of this? Yumm..."clam and tomato juice mixed!")
Tapered leg pants or jeans
Max Factor lipstick (it burns my lips!)

Five favorite toys:
My IPOD shuffle
My laptop
TIVO!
My cell phone
My fun pink storage items for my scrapbook supplies :)
------------------------------------------------------------------

I had to laugh the other day, driving down the freeway. You know those electronic signs that tell you if there is traffic or an Amber alert or something like that. Lately in TX the signs have said "Arson/Burn Ban" because of the dry weather. Arson ban? Oh good, I'm glad. Otherwise is it legal? I just found that funny. :)

Today it hit me very strongly that I need to enter the Chatterbox Make It Meaningful album contest. Not just for the chance to win $10,000 (which would be awesome!) but because the album I want to make would be one of the most important things I've ever created. I have just about a month to get it done. I am going on a scrapbook retreat next month so I'll work on it then, too.

My online scrapbooking class was great! I think there were about 40 people in attendance. I've gotten some really nice feedback and really enjoyed myself. The class was entitled "Preparing and Packing For a Crop: No UHaul Required!" There really is a science to it! :)

Oh...and if you haven't had a Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte yet.....then GET ONE. They are so YUMMY. A blend of cinnamon and brown sugar. Really sweet, but wow, SO good.

Need to go finish laundry. Another pointless but fun blog entry finished! :)

God, thank you for helping me appreciate these everyday things. I am so glad You help me do that on a daily basis.

Bye! :)

Love the blog quiz! Too cute.
I am in complete agreement on this latte. Now you have me wanting one and I'm stuck here at work *sigh* Guess I know where I'll be headed at lunch time!
And, the ending quote? Perfect.

I am like that with the sitting too - I always thought I was so weird, but I cannot sit with two feet on the floor! HA! I'm not alone!

Hey, Jennifer! I sit like that too. I guess that's why I usually sit on the floor. BTW, I love the Cinnamon Dolce latte too. They also make it in a frappuccino--yum!

Jennifer: I was at Starbuck's tonight and had one of those latte's. All I can say is "yum".

Great post! So sorry about your dad again...I'm sure the anniversary will be very hard for you. :-( At least we know he's in a much better place and doesn't have to suffer.
Take care!

Ohhh. That coffee pic looks divine.

Had to giggle about the Arson/Burn Ban sign! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some funny signs around Houston...

Good luck on your entry!
