Early birthday blessings! :)

My birthday is Saturday, 2/4, but I got a few fun new things early :)

(click on the photo to see it larger)

And because people always want to know "what is THAT on the left?" I'll tell you here:

1 - MOD Epoxy Stickers and Sparkle rub-ons

2 - EK Success embroidered Thanksgiving patches

3 - EK Success photo corner punch!

4 - Daisy D's Attic Heirloom papers (love these!)

5 - Stocked up on cardstock! (6/$1 textured cardstock at Hobby Lobby! Just like Bazzill!)

6 - Making Memories large rub-on words (I always cut them apart as I use them and just do single letters. Love this big size)

7 - Making Memories flower foam stamps - new!

8 - Li'l Davis foam stamps (Cleveland (l) and Marmalade)

9 - Basic Grey undressed Chipboard hardware - has huge photo anchors, { } signs, tags, hearts, flowers...lots of fun shapes!

10 - Lots of beautiful May Arts ribbon by the yard! My latest favorite thing is ric-rack :)

11 - Making Memories felt ribbon (bright colors!)

12 - Lots of Chatterbox paper for my album contest entry :)

13 - KI Memories rub-on letters and shapes

14 - Autumn Leaves rub-on stitches

15 - K & Co. rub-on stitches and ribbon!

16 - Heidi Swapp photo corners (grunge)

And I promise to use it all! :)

I bought a new magazine today called Country Cooking. I love these types of recipes, so it should be fun to try some new things. I'll post ones that I've made and tested. I don't like to post things I've never made before. :)

For my birthday on Saturday, my whole family is going out to lunch, then we're going back to my Mom's house for Hummingbird Cake (my favorite!) and Karaoke! We had so much fun on New Year's Eve singing karaoke that I've requested it for my birthday. ha! I heard "Vogue" on the radio today and made a mental note that I HAVE to find that song on karaoke before Saturday. That song is fun to sing! Do you have a favorite karaoke or "sing in the car" song?

Here is a recipe for the cake we'll have Saturday. YUM!!

Hummingbird Cake

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon
baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
3
eggs
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
2 cups diced bananas
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 12 cup Bundt pan.
Measure flour, sugar, soda, salt, cinnamon, oil, eggs, vanilla into mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Stir in pineapple with juice, bananas, and pecans. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in oven for about 70 minutes. Turn cake out onto rack or plate after cooling for 20 minutes. Cool, and ice with cream cheese icing.

I sure have been blessed. Thank you, Lord! :) - Jennifer
