August, August! YAY! I guess you could say that I'm glad it's here. :) I guess I'm just looking forward to getting back into the routine of school and for the holidays, Longhorn football season, and cooler weather to get here. So thankful it's coming...

Above is proof of my button addiction. They are my favorite embellishment. But you know, they aren't that expensive so I'm not feeling too guilty. :) I love to buy buttons at Walmart and Joann's (the Favorite Findings packages) and also really dig the Foofala buttons in the little bags. I had to take them out of the bags, though. Too hard to find what I need. The buttons in the big container on the right are all Foofala. The others are mixed brands. I don't spend a lot of money on scrapbook supplies, so having lots of buttons is ok. :)

I just saw Joe from Blue's Clues on TV. I swear they are putting eyeliner on him now. Is that a Jack Sparrow thing? (not that there's anything wrong with that!) :)

I ordered a really fun t-shirt from Tenika. It's gonna be a pink T with this logo on it. I'm thinking of even adding some rhinestones to it. Love her designs!

Noah is not crazy about grocery shopping. I usually take his gameboy for him to play, but he usually tires of it before I am finished shopping. So yesterday I loaded up my Ipod shuffle with only songs that HE likes. I put all of his Backyardigans, Spongebob, Veggie Tales, Charlie and the Chocolate factory soundtrack, and Disney movie songs on it. He had the best time! Every once in a while he'd break out into song or yell at me, forgetting that we weren't ALL listening to it, too. :)

Tonight for dinner we are going to have grilled cheeseburgers with homemade buns. Now before you say, "oh brother, homemade hamburger buns!?" just hold on. :) This recipe is SO easy and really, they taste so much better than store bought. All you do is dump the ingredients into a bread machine, turn it on, then cut the dough into 8 parts to rise. Here's the recipe...

Bread Machine Hamburger Buns

1 c. lukewarm water
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. bread flour or whole wheat flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. yeast (I use the jar of granules)

Put all ingredients in bread machine, choose the dough cycle and start. When done, remove the dough and gently roll into a cylinder shape about 12 inches long. Divide dough into 8 equal sections (can cut with a knife). Shape sections into balls and then flatten the top slightly. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 10-15 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Have a wonderful first day of August!
